Leaving Marrakech behind, the journey heads southeast across the High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering impressive views of mountain scenery and Berber villages perched along the slopes.
You then arrive at Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village built of earth and clay and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its distinctive architecture and hilltop position have made it a popular filming location for international productions. After exploring the ksar and enjoying lunch, the route continues through Skoura and Kelaa M’Gouna in the Valley of Roses.
By late afternoon, you reach the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and scenic river landscapes.
