Arrive in Fez in the afternoon and spend the evening settling in at a traditional Moroccan guesthouse, enjoying a local dinner.
Day 2: Fez – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Begin the day with a tour of Fez, including the historic Jewish quarter and the impressive royal palace, the largest in the country. Leave the city and travel through the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, famously known as “Little Switzerland.” Visit Azrou, a Berber village surrounded by the country’s largest cedar forest, where you may spot wild Barbary macaques. Stop in Midelt for a traditional lunch, then continue through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass and along the stunning Ziz Valley, passing charming Berber villages along the way. Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara, and enjoy a camel trek across the dunes to reach your desert camp. Experience the magical sunset over the sand and a night under the desert stars, followed by a traditional dinner.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes and take a morning walk across the desert sands. After breakfast, travel through the palm groves to Rissani to explore its traditional market (open on select days), then continue to Erfoud to see local fossil workshops. Next, visit the Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s highest and narrowest canyons, and enjoy a scenic walk along the river. In the afternoon, drive to the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and ancient kasbahs, and spend the night in this tranquil setting.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Skoura – Marrakech
